    Kaitlyn Harper, PLMHP

Kaiti’s passion for helping others began with an interest in working with adolescents.  She followed this passion in college to help others with a focus on education and psychology. Kaiti carried this forward by attending University of Nebraska at Omaha counseling program.  She graduated in 2018 and started putting her passion into action working with parents, families, and schools to relieve problems related to children’s behaviors including defiance, emotional dysregulation, poor social skills, low self-esteem, and verbal and physical aggression.

Kaiti has also been certified in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) through opportunities and connections with University of Nebraska, Omaha.  PCIT is a form of therapy that helps blend behavioral expectations and positive relationship building skills to help manage difficult grade school child behavior such as tantrumming and not following directions.  She is passionate about PCIT as she has seen how rewarding it is for the families she works with.  Kaiti understands how problematic behaviors can make even simple daily tasks stressful for families such as mealtimes, bedtimes or even just getting out of the house in the morning. She says:

“I work to help families by creating a healthy, trusting relationship between parent and child.  This happens through helping parents find appropriate boundaries and consistency.  I enjoy working closely to understand the unique challenges each family faces. This helps me to find solutions that are individualized and realistic for that family. I love when a  family reports feeling confident in their ability to get through stressful behaviors and enjoy harmonious family functioning.”
Kaiti also has an interest in assisting teens and young adults with struggle with balancing the pressures of today’s demands.  Keeping up with school, work, family, social obligations, and personal relationships can be overwhelming and stressful. On top of that depression, anxiety and coping that is overtaxed can complicate life unnecessarily. Kaiti’s goal is to take time building a trusting therapeutic relationship to understand the perspective of each individual’s difficulties and provide a safe, neutral place for clients to discover clarity and meaningful solutions. She  reports clients typically appreciate her direct approach that challenges clients to look inside themselves and align their values and motivations to find a path in life that is personally meaningful.
Kaiti can accept Medicaid (UHC-CP, Wellcare and NE Total Care) as well as Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance. She also has competitive private pay rates with discounts for payment at time of service.  She has evening appointments available.  Scheduling an appointment is quick and easy online.  There you’ll find intake paperwork and find an appointment time that works for you.
