Brooke Bartak, MS, LMHP, PLADC has 10 years of experience working in the field of mental health. In 2011, she obtained her MSEd in Community Counseling from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. For continued education, she completed trainings to become a Level II EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) clinician and also her provisionally licensed alcohol and drug counselor (PLADC) certification.
Through my experiences, I have developed an expertise in working with the adult population on a variety of concerns and issues. I am skilled in working with those who struggle with anxiety and depression as a result of past traumatic experiences or current transitions and stressors. As a Level II trained EMDR clinician, I put my learned skills to work for clients who would like to learn ways to manage their emotions and behaviors due to past traumatic experiences. EMDR is a well-researched therapeutic technique that is designed to assist people who have experienced a trauma feel more in control of their memories and how they impact them in daily life.
I also have a specialty working with those who struggle with substance abuse or dependence or have a loved one that does. Those who suffer with drug or alcohol abuse often have much more to their story than what meets the eye. I provide outpatient sessions for those who are struggling with addiction or working on maintaining sobriety. I strive to help people with an addiction learn their triggers to abuse and identify positive coping mechanisms to assist with difficult times. Family members are also often impacted by their loved one’s addiction. Even if your loved one is not ready for treatment, it can still be beneficial for family members to seek out their own support and learn loving ways to implement boundaries with their family member.
I pride myself on having a person-centered approach to counseling, which means I work hard to meet each client where they are at and utilize empathy to assist each person in feeling heard and respected. Other treatment modalities I utilize include cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, and motivational interviewing. With these techniques, I work to create a specialized treatment plan that best suits you and your specific needs. You don’t have to struggle another day, call today, I’m here to help.
